Workshop in Kuala Lumpur

Thank's to Mr. Chin Seng TAN precious cooperation, the Seventh Deciso workshop offered me the possibility to meet wonderful musicians, amateurs and hight level professionals  in Kuala Lumpur. We spent two weeks of intense work in a fantastic ambiance.

Masterclass at The Malaysian Institute of Art

Communication and professional experience sharing is a must for a violin maker. It is always a pleasure to me sharing my professional experience with musicians. The conference theme was “aestheticism in bowed instrument making”, a pretext to explain the differences between structural, functional and ornament parts in the viol family. 

A very special thanks to the conference organizers, especially to Doctor Lok Lay Hong, Head Department of Music for her warm welcoming to the Malaysian Institute of Art.

The Malaysian Institute of Art

                                                In 1967 MIA started in a bungalow on Teacher road ( now known as Jalan Sultan Ismail). Mr. Chung Chen Sun together with a couple of Art  teachers started classes in fine and graphic Art with thirty mature students. This was the beginning of the first Art school in Malaysia.

During four decades, the MIA has gone through  turbulent times but with the dedication and hard work of the board, President and Staff, have overcome remarkable challenges in their praiseworthy mission leading MIA as a high level Education resource.

Thanks to continued commitment and dedication, MIA is now forming the next Malaysian generation in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Textile fashion and Music.
